I will be winging my way to Banff for a ski weekend tomorrow. Therefore I am posting a little early this week.

Houston we have an offer. I meet for the first time today with the prospective future landlord for TheCodeFactory plan A and have started to negotiate for the space. My original intent was to be able to announce that the space had been secured at DemoCamp on Monday, however, that seems a bit unlikely. Anyway I thought the meeting went well and will be sure to keep everyone up to date. If Plan A doesn’t work our I do have Plan B and Plan C.

The circumstances around the tenant who usurped me for the space continues to thicken and perhaps give off a pungent odour. I now know that this government organization is a non-profit affiliated with The City of Ottawa. Stay tuned for more details, I do have some friends in city hall doing some digging. There is something about using public funds to compete with private industry that really bugs me. As a taxpayer it is a bit like using my own money against me.

On a more positive front I have found another plan A, B and C for space. The intent is to move forward with negotiations as quickly as possible. Who would have know there was so much paper work when leasing commercial property.

It’s that time again.

What could be better on a cold winters evening than sitting in a pub with many other technology enthusiasts watching Ottawa area start-ups and companies demonstrate their latest creations. Rumour has it that there are also beverage both warm and cold served by our favorite ClockTower barkeep Bill. Hope you can make it out details below:

Wishing everyone all the best for 2008.

The good news is I expect to have the location issue sorted out before the end of the month. From the Boxing Day to New Year day period I identified a number of spots that have some potential and will be visiting them next week. The original spot is still a possibility, however, won’t know until the end of next week.
