How does one decide to leap and become and entrepreneur?

Well … I’d say there are a few ways to decide;
- you decide …
Students want meaningful and relevant employment.
Start-ups want energetic and enthusiastic employees.

Local Ottawa Entrepreneur and friend to many start-ups Harley Finkelstein will be starting a series of twittercasts under the name @AskHarley. The event is intended to enable and empower students and young entrepreneurs. If you are starting up and twitter ready you are good to go.
.
.
.
I have known Harley for just over a year and he is someone I like to refer to as a 20ish year old 50 year old. One of those very rare individuals with a sharp young mind and wisdom that takes others a lifetime to acquire. This is a great opportunity if you have questions about anything start-up and entrepreneur related. I highly recomend you check it out.
.
AskHarley Details:

Should I incorporate or register my new business?

What is the best type of financing for my new start-up – Debt vs. Equity, SBL, municipal/government loans, angels, seed, or friends/family/fools?
.
What’s the best way to market my product online – viral v. PPC, social media vs. conventional media?
.
All broadcasts will be archived on Techvibes for future reference and will become an invaluable resource for future digital media entrepreneurs.

Back in the day I used to cycle back and forth to work every day … mainly because I didn’t have a car and taking the bus to where I was going really just didn’t work. Riding 25k a day gets you in pretty reasonable shape in a hurray.

.
Fade back to today … Darren De Jean, most awesome guy and TheCodeFactory member had a brilliant idea. Startup Sunday Cycling. At least two of us will be hitting the trials in Ottawa starting this sunday morning at 9am and touring the Ottawa River Parkway and canal. the ride is open to anyone that wants to participate. This promises to be a lot of fun and a weekly outing rain or shine (hoping for the later).
.
Happy Trails,

Tony Bailetti of Carleton University TIM (Technology Innovation Management) and Lead to Win forwarded this note along that I wanted to share with readers. Congratulations to Dru Lavigne and the whole Carleton support team who have done a tremendous job in creating a highly successful publication.

Twenty five months ago, the Talent First Network published the first issue of the OSBR.ca. The objective was to accelerate the adoption of open source assets and the commercialization of market offers that rely on these assets.
.
The success of the OSBR.ca is due to a large number of very special people.
.
The readers of the OSBR.ca grew from 400 to 10,000 a month. They contributed ideas for topics, referred us to great content, and pushed us to do the right things. Plans to increase readership ten times over the next three years depend on our existing readers. We start by thanking the readers of the OSBR.ca for their contribution to its success.
.
Dru Lavigne has been the editor of the OSBR.ca since day one. Her passion for the OSBR is contagious. Month after month Dru quietly makes things happen. She is a very talented professional and a pleasure to work with. She is a star who has made an enormous contribution to the success of the OSBR.
Thank you Dru from the bottom of our hearts!
.
A total of 163 authors contributed articles to the first 25 issues of the OSBR.ca. Without the commitment of these excellent authors, the OSBR would not exist today. Thank you OSBR authors!
.
The guest editors and the OSBR Advisory Board include talented and opinionated people who have worked hard to make the OSBR.ca the high quality publication it is today. The guest editors and the Board members attract talented authors worldwide, demand good content, provide insightful comments, reject poor articles and continuously push us to improve everything that we do. Thank you guest editors and members of the OSBR Advisory Board!
