Open for Business – May 26th

It has been a long and bumpy road and I am pleased to announce that theCodeFactory will be officially open for business on Monday May 26th from 9am to 5pm.

Our regular business hours will be 9am to 5pm each business day. This is subject to change based on feedback from people using the facilities. Jocelyn will be joining theCodeFactory as employee number one and her energy, enthusiasm and great people skills will be a welcome addition to helping run the facility.

I also wanted to highlight that the official opening and launch event will be Tuesday May 27th from 5pm to 7pm, everyone is welcome. Light refreshments and drinks will be served. Our three speakers for the event will be; Denzil Doyle Ottawa tech pioneer and guru will speak on tech leadership and managment, Mike Milinkovich Executive Director from the Eclipse foundation (a most awesome Ottawa organization) will speak on the Ottawa open source communityand Scott Lake CEO of Shopify and leader in the Ottawa start-up community will speak on building a successful start-up in Ottawa. Hope you can make it.

  1. Congratulations on a great Grand Opening event last evening. The space looks terrific and reflects your hard work, dedication and is a reflection of the values you have for start-ups.
… and now the real work begins but I believe that you will be up for the challenge.

From personal experience Ian, I can now tell you that your life will now change forever, well beyond your expectations and present continuing opportunities to explore.

  2. I came across the announcement of your grand opening on an Ottawa blog. Congratulations! I have a question- is this space meant for start-up technology companies or start-up companies in general who don’t have the budget for commercial space, boardroom, receptionist, etc.?

  3. Kerry, the space is intended prmarily for start-ups and independants. The private space has rates and terms friendly to early stage business that might not want to sign a 3 or 5 year lease. The co-working space is open and accessible to anyone.

  4. Nice spot Ian, thanks for hosting the Social Media Round table for the Ottawa Network last night.

I blogged about it, and yes, there is a photo of you at your new space too!
