Cycle Start-up – Sunday

Back in the day I used to cycle back and forth to work every day … mainly because I didn’t have a car and taking the bus to where I was going really just didn’t work. Riding 25k a day gets you in pretty reasonable shape in a hurray.

Fade back to today … Darren De Jean, most awesome guy and TheCodeFactory member had a brilliant idea. Startup Sunday Cycling. At least two of us will be hitting the trials in Ottawa starting this sunday morning at 9am and touring the Ottawa River Parkway and canal. the ride is open to anyone that wants to participate. This promises to be a lot of fun and a weekly outing rain or shine (hoping for the later).

Happy Trails,

  1. Hi Ian,

Darren just pinged me as I will be heading out with you guys on Sunday.

    See you then.
    Pero

  2. Good to meet you on Sunday Pero looking forward to next week and eventually Le Tour de Gatineau.

  3. We are on again for this Sunday looking to do 2 laps this week (67k). Pero and I will be there anyone else who wants to attend is welcome.

We meet in the experimental farm parking lot 9am by the locks. Head west to the firestation at Woodroffe and then around the Ottawa River Parkway and Canal to Hogs Back. A nice flat ride for beginers.

almost the entire ride is on bicycle trails and closed to cars routes.

  4. Great idea. Unfortunately I am heading to PEI on Sunday. maybe later in August.

  5. Hey Ian,

Enjoy PEI great spot, Cavendish, North Rustico, lots of tatters and sand.

Plan is to go cycling every Sunday. The one caveat is weather permitting.
